Getting to the Conference
SCAPE 2026 will take place in southern Sweden, with all conference activities hosted at Backagården in Höör, within the Skåne region. The venue is well connected by rail and air, and is accessible from major European travel hubs.
The most convenient international airport is Copenhagen Airport (CPH), which offers direct connections across Europe and internationally. From the airport, participants can travel by train to Höör, typically requiring approximately 1–1.5 hours depending on connection times. Trains run frequently between Copenhagen and southern Sweden, via Malmö and Lund.
An alternative route is via Lund, which is connected to Copenhagen Airport by frequent cross-border trains (approx. 35–45 minutes), and to Höör by regional train in approximately 20–30 minutes.
Arrival in Höör and Local Transport
The nearest railway station is Höör Central Station. From here, the conference venue is located at a short distance outside the town:
- Distance from Höör Central Station to Backagården: approximately 3–4 km
- Travel time by car/taxi: approximately 5–10 minutes
- Travel time on foot: approximately 40–50 minutes (not recommended with luggage)
SCAPE will provide dedicated shuttle transport from Höör Central Station to Backagården on the afternoon of the official arrival day. Exact departure times and pickup procedures will be communicated closer to the conference.
Taxis are also typically available at Höör station, but availability may be limited during off-peak hours, so participants are encouraged to use the scheduled shuttle where possible.
Conference Venue
Backagården
Address: Backagården, 243 91 Höör, Sweden
Backagården is a residential conference centre located in a forested and rural setting just outside Höör, offering a quiet environment designed for meetings, courses, and retreats. The surrounding landscape consists of mixed woodland and open natural areas typical of central Skåne.
Practical Information
Given the rural location of the venue, participants are encouraged to plan travel carefully around the scheduled arrival times and shuttle services. Once at Backagården, no additional transport is required during the conference, as accommodation, meals, and scientific sessions are all located within the same facility.
Participants should also note:
- The venue is not located in central Höör, but in a rural area outside the town
- Weather in late October can be cool, wet, and variable, and appropriate clothing for outdoor walking is strongly recommended
Further detailed travel guidance, including suggested train connections and timing recommendations, will be provided closer to the event.
