Arrival and Conference Opening
We look forward to welcoming you to the conference on 22 October!
Participants should arrive in Höör on 22 October, preferably in the early afternoon, to allow enough time for travel, check-in, and registration before dinner.
Check-in and registration will take place before dinner. The conference programme officially begins at 18:00 with dinner, so please plan your arrival accordingly.
Shuttle transport will be provided between Höör train station and the conference venue. Shuttle details, including the pick-up point and schedule, will be shared closer to the conference.
Travelling to Höör by Train
The easiest way to reach Höör from abroad is to fly to Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and continue by train. The airport is directly connected to southern Sweden, so you do not need to travel into central Copenhagen first.
Option 1: Copenhagen Airport → Höör
The simplest option is to take an Öresundståg, the regional train service, from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) directly towards Sweden and get off at Höör. The journey takes approximately 1–1.5 hours, depending on the departure and any changes.
At Copenhagen Airport, follow the signs to the train station in Terminal 3. Check the departure boards for trains travelling towards Malmö and Sweden, and make sure that Höör is included in your journey.
You can plan your journey and buy your ticket using the Skånetrafiken app or website. Tickets are also available from ticket machines at Copenhagen Airport. Remember to buy your ticket before boarding, as tickets cannot be purchased on board the train.
Option 2: Copenhagen Airport → Lund → Höör
Another easy option is to travel via Lund, particularly if you would like to spend some time there or are already travelling through Lund.
From Copenhagen Airport, take an Öresundståg (regional train service) to Lund Central Station (Lund C). The journey takes approximately 35–40 minutes. From Lund C, you can take a regional train directly to Höör, which takes approximately 20–30 minutes.
You can search the complete journey in the Skånetrafiken app, which will show you the available connections and allow you to purchase your ticket.
Buying Your Train Ticket
There are two easy ways to buy your train ticket: through the Skånetrafiken app or from a ticket machine at the station.
The Skånetrafiken app is the easiest option right on your smartphone. You can use it to plan your journey, see the available connections, and buy your ticket.
You can also buy a paper ticket from a ticket machine before boarding the train. Ticket machines are available at Copenhagen Airport and at train stations throughout southern Sweden, including Höör.
Arrival in Höör and Local Transport
The nearest railway station is Höör Central Station. From here, the conference venue is located at a short distance outside the town:
- Distance from Höör Central Station to Backagården: approximately 3–4 km
- Travel time by car/taxi: approximately 5–10 minutes
- Travel time on foot: approximately 40–50 minutes (not recommended with luggage)
SCAPE will provide dedicated shuttle transport from Höör Central Station to Backagården on the afternoon of the official arrival day. Exact departure times and pickup procedures will be communicated closer to the conference.
Taxis are also typically available at Höör station, but availability may be limited during off-peak hours, so participants are encouraged to use the scheduled shuttle where possible.

Backagården is a residential conference centre located in a forested and rural setting just outside Höör, offering a quiet environment designed for meetings, courses, and retreats. The surrounding landscape consists of mixed woodland and open natural areas typical of central Skåne.
Practical Information
Given the rural location of the venue, participants are encouraged to plan travel carefully around the scheduled arrival times and shuttle services. Once at Backagården, no additional transport is required during the conference, as accommodation, meals, and scientific sessions are all located within the same facility.
Participants should also note:
- The venue is not located in central Höör, but in a rural area outside the town
- Weather in late October can be cool, wet, and variable, and appropriate clothing for outdoor walking is strongly recommended
